Support Outlook express 6 settings

Checking Outlook Express 6 settings...

  1. Click on Tools. Click on Accounts.  



  2. Click the Mail tab.
    • Make sure the Heartland mail account is highlighted.
    • Click Properties on the right side.  


  3. You're Name should appear next to "Name:".
    • You're username@hcis.net should be next to "E-mail Address:" and "Reply Address:".
      For example: johndoe@hcis.net
    • Check "Include this account..."
    • Click the Servers tab.  



  4. "Incoming mail (POP3):" should be mail.hcis.net.
    • "Outgoing mail (SMTP):" should be mail.hcis.net.
    • "Account Name:" should have your username.
      This should be in small case and no spaces.
    • "Password:" should have your password.
      This should be in small case and no spaces.
    • Check "Remember password".
    • Uncheck "Log on using Secure Password Authentication".
    • Uncheck "My server requires authentication".
    • Click the Connection tab.  


  5. Uncheck "Always connect to this account using".
    • Click OK.
    • Click Close on the next screen.  


  6. Click Tools.
    • Click Options.  



  7. Click the Connection tab.
    • Check "Ask before switching dial-up connections."
    • Uncheck "Hang up after sending and receiving."
    • Click OK.  


  8. Click the Security tab.
    • Uncheck "Do not allow attachments to be saved..."
    • Leave everything else as it is shown below or as standard.
    • Click OK.
