Eudora 5 mail settings |
Checking Eudora 5 mail settings...
- Click Tools. Click Options.

- In the "Category:" menu on the lefthand side, click on "Checking Mail."
- Type in mail.hcis.net under "Mail Server:"
- Type in your username under "Login Name:"
For example: jsmith
- Set "Check for mail every..." to 0 minutes.
- Uncheck "Don't check without a network connection"
- Uncheck "Don't check when using battery"
- Check "Send on check"
- Check "Save password"
- Set "Secure Sockets when Receiving" to "If Available, STARTTLS"

- In the "Category:" menu on the lefthand side, Click the top option "Getting Started"
- Type in your name next to "Real name:"
- Type in your username@hcis.net next to "Return address:"
- Type in mail.hcis.net in "Mail Server (Incoming):"
- Type in you username next to "Login Name:"
- Type in mail.hcis.net next to "SMTP Server (Outgoing):"
- Uncheck "Allow Authentication"

- In the "Category:" menu, select "Incoming Mail"
- Select POP next to "Server configuration:"
- Uncheck all the boxes.
- Select "Passwords"

- In the "Category:" menu, select "Sending Mail"
- Leave "Domain to add..." blank.
- Type in mail.hcis.net next to "SMTP server:"
- Check all boxes here.
- Set "Secure Sockets when Sending" to "If Available, STARTTLS"

- In the "Category:" menu, select "Internet Dialup."
- Check "Have Eudora connect..."
- Uncheck "Hang-up after sending and receiving"
- Uncheck "Close connection on Exit"
- Select your Heartland connection next to "Entry:"
- Uncheck "Only do automatic mail checks when..."
